‘World Rabies Day’ is celebrated every year on 28 September to raise awareness about rabies and ways to prevent it. This day was first started by the ‘Global Alliance for Rabies Control’ (GARC) and is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) every year in September. This day was started in the year 2007 by the Global Alliance for Rabies Control (GARC), which is a group working for the prevention of rabies around the world. The date of September 28 was chosen in honor of the death anniversary of Louis Pasteur. The scientist who developed the first successful rabies vaccine.

The main goal of World Rabies Day is to inform people about the dangers of rabies and promote action to prevent its spread. Rabies is a fatal disease that most people get from dog bites. The World Health Organization (WHO) and other health groups support this day. We focus on making rabies prevention accessible to everyone and educating communities about the importance of vaccinating pets and taking immediate action if bitten by an animal.

On this special occasion, we will tell you an interesting story related to rabies vaccine. You will get goosebumps after hearing this.

Actually, the story is about a 9-year-old child living in the French city of Alzhak. The name of this child was Joseph Meister. On July 6, 1885, Joseph Meister was bitten by a mad dog. In 1885, being bitten by a mad dog meant that your life was just a guest for a few days. Rabies is a life-threatening disease caused by a serious virus. At that time it is difficult to avoid. Joseph’s mother was crying badly. In such a situation, his mother got another floating news that there is a scientist who keeps mad dogs and makes injections from their blood.

This injection is so good that by applying it people are saved from rabies disease. This rumor gave hope to Joseph Meister’s mother. He thought, let it be nothing, but if my son survives then what is the problem. She went to Paris. When she met the scientist with the mad dog, the scientist was also very happy. Because he had made an injection for rabies but there was no person to test it. The scientists were happy to see Joseph. After this he started treating the child. The doctor of mad dogs was scientist Louis Pasteur. Whose discovery saved both humans and animals.
